Figure Out Your Space: Your available space in your backyard is something very important to check out first. If your kids are old enough, get them to help by measuring your backyard with a tape measure, a piece of yarn, and even their own feet! It doesn’t really matter, as long as they feel they are helping out and you can measure the area accurately yourself anyway. The point is to work together towards the same goal.

Think About Safety: Ask your kids to walk around their backyard and look out for potential hazards to fix or stay away from. Things like low roofs, tree branches, fences, ponds and walls can be pointed out by your kids when considering the space for their playset. As for the playset itself being safe, don’t worry, we’ve got this! All our playsets are made with the highest quality materials and considering every safety aspect, like non-slip climbing ladders, anchors to hold the playset firmly down and all wood encased in a vinyl sheath to prevent splinters and more importantly, rot, bug infestation and decay.

TIME TO TURN ON THE COMPUTER

Get Inspired: Sit with your kids around your computer screen and browse through our website and online catalog to get ideas for your own playset! Depending on the age of your children, you can steer the younger ones toward age appropriate models and accessories or get a bit more daring with the heights of towers, swings and slides with the older ones. If it’s in your budget, this could be a good moment to decide about having mulch under your set, which makes it even safer and looks totally cool!

Access the 3D Design Center: Get familiar with it, let your kids play around with it and learn how to move around in it! Open tabs, click on all the different features and practice grabbing them and dragging them into the building area. The yellow dots will show you where you can connect features and accessories. You can adjust the perspective and rotate things around with simple clicks and drags.

Choose Your Tower First: Unless you opt for a simple A-frame swing set, all our playsets start off with a tower. Choose a tower with an appropriate height for your kids and have them move it around to position it with the best orientation. This tower will be the foundation for ladders, swing beams, slides and connectors. You can have as many towers as you like, depending on your budget, but you can definitely start off to a great playset with just one. 

Choose Your Swings, Slides, Entrances And Connectors: This is super fun to do with your kids! As soon as you have picked a tower, try out different entrances, like ladders, gangplanks and rock climbing walls. Have your kids bring in different kinds of swings and gliders and pick out a slide or slides that tickle them the most! You’ll find a variety of swings and slides to choose from. If you decide to have two towers, now is the time to connect them with features like a swing beam, a wobbly bridge or a crawl tube. Connect everything through the yellow dots to ensure that it’s a possible combination.

Have Fun Adding Accessories: Take your time to explore with your kids all of our cool features and accessories and decide which ones will make the playset of your dreams. A sand-box, a picnic table, a fireman’s pole, a tic-tac-toe panel, even a lemonade stand for young entrepreneurs! Whatever you add to your playset will only make it more fun.

Choose Your Colors: When everything is in place, you can all decide together on a color scheme or mix and match with our different color options! Just click on each accessory and you will be able to see the available colors in the top bar. All you have to do is click on the color you like the most!

Check Out The Final Look: Take a complete look at the playset you have all created together! You can rotate it so that you can see how it would look facing this or that way. You can also see if maybe a slide would look or fit better on the other side or that you even have space for one more swing. You can change the position of the swings if they look better or are more convenient to your space.
