Do We Need an ASTM Compliant Commercial Playground?

This is an important question that will need to be answered before you purchase a playground. If your swing set is being used in a commercial environment, then the answer is most likely “yes”. A commercial environment would be considered one of the following: parks in residential neighborhoods or for HOA’s, churches, daycares, and RV Parks just to name a few. To be sure, you can get with your insurance company or local government authority to verify if an ASTM certified commercial swing set is needed.
Once you have confirmed that you need a commercial playground, make sure the play set you purchase is ASTM certified. If the swing set will not pass ASTM standards, then the playset is not suitable in a commercial environment and will fail inspection by your insurance company’s CPSI inspector. We will give you a letter stating that your commercial playground and surface meet all ASTM requirements. This letter will satisfy all government agencies and insurance companies.
