Key Swing Set Relocation Information
Swing set relocation can be a difficult process since it requires disassembling, transporting, and reassembling the set. Plus, you want to ensure the set stays in perfect condition throughout the entire process. We can only provide qualified information on our sets and our products and what we have seen homeowners do in the past. These are some key things to keep in mind:
The ease of, and success with, swing set relocation largely depends on the size of your set. If your set is somewhat simple in design and has fewer add-ons, you will be more likely able to handle it on your own. For example, if you have a simpler set with 3 swings on a single beam and a tower with attachments, you’ll find it easier to relocate. However, if you have a huge swing set in your yard, it might be too big to move.
Before undertaking swing set relocation, it is good if you have some experience working on home improvement projects. Moving a swing set does require taking apart and breaking down the largest sections piece-by-piece. While it is not overly complicated, it can be overwhelming — especially if you have never done work like this before. However, if you have a track record of doing other DIY projects, you should be in the clear.
Even if you have a resume of successful backyard projects, you’ll likely need a skilled friend or two to make the process go faster. Plus, some of the heavy lifting definitely mandates an extra set of hands. Moving a playset can be a great opportunity for upgrading, too! Learn more about upgrading to a big kid swing set.
Once you have the swing set broken down, you’ll still need to actually move it. Since the broken-down components themselves can be fairly large and heavy, you’ll want to make sure you have access to a large truck or trailer. After all, the swing set installer needed a truck to deliver it in the first place!
At Adventure World Play Sets, we make all of our pieces available across the country thanks to our dedicated dealer network. Your local dealer that handled the installation of your set may be the perfect person to ask for assistance in moving it. Some of our dealers perform this service when they are able to, while others may not.
Building a Brand-New Set
If you’ve decided that moving a playset or swing set is a little much for you to handle in the middle of a move, that’s quite alright. This can be a good time to upgrade to a new set for your kids. Oftentimes, parents will opt to upgrade to one of our deluxe heavy-duty playsets when they are moving into their new home.
So, if you have a cheaper, non-Adventure World set that looks like it’s seen better days, this might be a good opportunity to skip the swing set relocation and upgrade instead. Our playsets are built to be extremely safe while providing TONS of exciting and imaginative ways for kids to play!
