Five Cool Features for your Playset to Maximize the Fun
Most everyone has memories about childhood days spent in a park on a swing set; maybe we remember the sensation of freedom that swinging high can give, or the excitement of whizzing down a tall slide or even trying to climb it upwards. Sometimes our parents would bring a picnic basket and make a whole event out of a visit to the park.
At Adventure World Play Sets we pride ourselves in making amazing sets that will create amazing memories with the advantage of having them in your very own backyard. Having different kinds of swings and slides, we also offer many other accessories and features to choose from; read on to learn about five of our favorite ones.
Step out of the routine and set the table for lunch outdoors on your picnic table. Enjoy sunny or even cloudy fall days eating outside; you can even skip the running in and out of the kitchen by actually packing a picnic basket to add to the experience. Imagine a nice checkered tablecloth, pretty paper or plastic reusable plates and a nice fruit salad, sandwiches, hotdogs or chicken nuggets with all the necessary condiments right there at your table for a saturday lunch or even a weekday snack before dinner. The table is also practical to sit at to work on arts and crafts, play cards or board games and even do homework out in the fresh air.
These days, more and more parents are motivating entrepreneurship in their children as a way to make them learn all about earning money. A lemonade stand is a fun way to learn about business, marketing and finances, as well as being a great way to acquire life skills such as taking creative actions, decision making, communication, problem-solving and, of course, math.
Our lemonade stand comes with two stools and a personalized name plaque and since imagination is a trademark of children, why stop at lemonade? Kids can offer iced-tea, milk and cookies and hot chocolate in chilly weather and can even scale up to cupcakes and cups of fruit for neighborhood kids to feast on.
Bring a little bit of the beach into your backyard and let your kids enjoy playing in the sand building sandcastles, roads for toy cars and anything their imagination dictates; all you have to do is provide kids with beach toys such as buckets, small hand- shovels and rakes, as well as oversized cookie cutters or containers to create shapes. Playing with sand is important for children’s development because it enhances social and emotional awareness, it sparks imagination and creativity, it improves motor skills, as well as helping kids understand scientific and mathematical concepts from an early age.
Take advantage of the space under your play set tower to install a closed, four-wall hidden hut and let your kid’s imagination run free with it, making it a secret hideout where grown-ups are not allowed in. Edward Wilson, a famous American biologist says that it is a fundamental trait of human nature for kids to want a hideaway from their parents; in these “secret” places, children learn to develop environments of their own with their own sets of rules away from the ones of adults. Supervision is always recommended when kids are on a play set, but having an enclosed space will allow for them to have unstructured play and let their imaginations soar.
This wonderful feature lets those who are confined to a wheelchair to enjoy and benefit from the experience of swinging. A strong and sturdy platform holds the wheelchair in place, allowing the child on it to be swung to and fro, because we believe that nobody should be left out of the fun!
Our swing sets and play sets are not just that; they are mainly a gateway to endless fun and imaginative play; with these features, kids can foster creativity, social interaction and outdoor exploration all while having a blast in the safety and comfort of your own backyard.
